The four seats typically develop your expertise as set out below:

Seat 1 (0–6 months): You will start out prospecting for new business in support of your Senior. This involves calling semi-qualified leads and direct calling potential customers and passing identified opportunities on to your Senior to progress. In this role you will learn the basics of our core financial products, lenders and customer profiles, providing the foundational basis for your career development moving forwards.

Seat 2 (6-12 months): You will now rotate directly into the Sales function, sitting side-by-side with a Senior member of the Broker team. In this seat your rate of development accelerates; amongst other things you will learn to draft credit papers for submission to lenders, conduct a basic ‘internal underwrite’ of a customers finance requirements, be the first point of contact with customers from start to finish and develop your sales technique and skills. You may even begin to close smaller deals and transactions, depending on your ability.

Seat 3 (12-18 months): You will continue to build upon the skills learnt to date in a more demanding role sitting one-toone with a Sales Director. You will also begin to run smaller transactions from start to finish, from initial prospecting call to closing the deal with the customer. In this seat you will also be exposed to larger and more complex syndicated finance transactions, including deals with an international multi-jurisdictional element. This is especially the case with more complex asset finance transactions.

Seat 4 (18-24 months): You will rotate into your final seat with another Sales Director, seeking to finesse your skills by learning different sales approaches, techniques and styles. By this juncture, you will be working in conjunction with your Sales Director to cement all of the knowledge to date in anticipation of qualification into a fee-earning commission generating role. Any products or lenders you have not yet had exposure to will be identified and covered to ensure you are ready to be a Finance Broker

  • You will receive 1-on-1 mentorship from a Sales Director or Executive Finance Broker.

  • You will develop and maintain ongoing customer, supplier and client relationships. As you progress, you will be given more responsibility to manage deal flows and pipelines on your own account.

  • You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the financial products available to their customers. The transaction process covers a wide range from initial contact to underwriting with regulatory standards.
