What is the role?

– This 2-year infrastructure engineering and support role will see you designing, developing, testing, and implementing new technology for the firm. 

– You will be exposed to infrastructure systems and support across the internal teams that include Service Desk, Data Centre, Network, End User Tech, Security and Cloud. 

– Great customer service and communications skills are essential as you start your Ruffer journey in one of our Client facing support teams while you build the essential technical knowledge and skills to enable you to move into the more engineering or project delivery focused teams.

– As part of a small team, you will be given lots of training and mentoring, but also responsibility and autonomy from the outset. You will be exposed to senior stakeholders from across the business.

– The role is perfect for quick learners who can think on their feet, who are adaptable and prepared to go the extra mile to help someone out or learn something new. You will need to be an excellent logical problem solver. We seek out graduates who have a natural curiosity for how things work and a desire to make them work better, and the skills to explain how they will do it!

Who is best suited to this role?

– 2:1 in an IT Degree subject such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Computing Systems or related technical degrees

– Experience or proven interest in working in an IT Support role or IT Infrastructure would be desirable.

– Experience with any coding or scripting language is useful but not essential

– Someone who demonstrates an enthusiasm and interest in technology 

– You must be comfortable working in a small team and be a self-starter with plenty of initiative

– We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ambition to succeed
