What is the Programme? 

This 2-year programme will help you to understand more about running our airport. The Security Graduate will be actively involved in real time projects affecting the airport from day one, including opportunities in, Security Operations, Compliance and Regulation, Continuous Improvement and Operational Planning & Resourcing.  

You will be able to give your best and redefine what is possible. You will be involved in live projects that deliver what matters. Part of the programme will include a leadership development module with the other graduates and a dedicated coach (a senior leader from the business) to help build resilience in the workplace. 

Gatwick Airport Security is responsible for the safety and security of our staff and customers. We’re a team of passenger experience professionals who look after passengers and stakeholders. Including airlines, UK Border Force, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and the Department for Transport (DfT), as well as international airport and security organisations we make sure every journey is safe and stress-free. 

On this programme, we will train you in all aspects of security at Gatwick. You will learn about Passenger, External Security, and how the Security Support functions work together to deliver high levels of passenger safety and security for millions of people that journey through Gatwick every year.  


What will you do? 

  • Work collaboratively across the operation engaging teams to maximise productivity.  
  • Develop skills in the leadership of people, process and systems that support the delivery of an efficient, and compliant operation at Gatwick. 
  • Communicate clear goals and expectations for teams and manage performance. 
  • Maintain effective two-way communications, providing context.  
  • Lead teams to deliver great standards giving coaching, feedback, and a clear understanding of the standards required. 
  • Involve the team in problem-solving and innovation work.  
  • Create and maintain a sense of team. 
  • Proactively and sensitively recognise and act when dynamics are changing.

Do you have what we’re looking for? 

  • Minimum 2:1 in any degree. (Graduated 2023 or projected for 2024).  
  • Previous experience within Security. 
  • Logical thinker with an aptitude for problem-solving. 
  • Highly numerate, with an understanding of Data analysis. 
  • Ability to prioritise and work at pace. 
  • Ability to build good relationships and influence across the Airport. 
  • Creative, innovative, curious to find a better way. 
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, always trying to be your best self. 
  • Team working- you’ll enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas, and collaborating with colleagues as well as other graduates.
