Our 700-strong team of Investment Professionals offer a depth and breadth of investment expertise across our asset classes: Cash & Currency, Multi Asset, Equities, Public Fixed Income and Private & Alternative Assets.
Global Distribution and Product (GDP) is the global business development function within our asset management business. The functions within GDP include sales teams in UK, Europe, Asia and Americas, working with clients in wholesale channels (banks, private banks, advisors) and institutional channels (pension funds, insurers) to sell our investment capabilities, and provide service to our existing clients. GDP also includes Product Development, Strategic Planning and Investment Marketing.
What you can expect from our Internship Programme:
As an Asset Management Intern you will be placed in one of the following teams: Investment Desk, Investment Operations, Global Distribution and Product (which includes Product, Marketing, Strategy and Distribution) or Sustainability.
The programme consists of an 8 week immersive dive into the world of M&G, starting on 24 June 2024. We are focused on developing you professionally, as well as building your technical skills, through real, value-add work and learning sessions hosted by our experienced professionals.
Your induction will give you a grounding of who we are, our strategy, and customers & clients before you move into your dedicated team for the rest of your time with us. Being based in the same team for the duration of the programme will give you an in-depth of knowledge of your business area, and help you to build lasting relationships with your colleagues. Another important part of your internship is building your network, so each intern will be allocated a buddy from our graduate cohort, and will also have the opportunity to attend networking and social events during your time here.
Our Internship programme is a pipeline to our Graduate programme, so if you are successful during your time with us we may invite you to apply for one of our graduate positions commencing in 2025.
What will you be doing?
You will be working on your own projects, getting involved in team meetings, and encouraged to present your own views and ideas during your time here. Interns at M&G plc make valuable contributions to the teams they work in and will be involved in a variety of tasks dependant upon the hosting team. If you are placed in the Investment business:
If you are placed in the GDP business:
Our application process:
We will work with you during the recruitment process to align your strengths and preferences with our teams to find you the most suitable placement. To do this, we follow a four stage process:
Before the Assessment Centre Day, you will attend a candidate briefing session where we will cover what to expect on the day, and tips for success. On the day itself you will be able to speak to some of our Graduates to find out their experiences of M&G and how they found the transition to corporate life.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for enthusiastic, creative thinkers and hands-on individuals from any subject matter background, with a desire to learn and who have a genuine interest in financial markets. Candidates who succeed with us are self-motivated, capable of building and maintaining relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
Candidates must be able to formulate their own opinions by thinking both analytically and critically about problems. We don’t require specific degrees or grades because we know each background and experience brings its own skills and individual perspective to M&G.
This programme will teach you the technical and professional skills you need to be successful in your career, as long as you are committed to investing the time in your own development.
